Dates From Palm-tree Obeyed Prophet Muhammad(ﷺ)

Allah Sent Miracles and Signs to Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم)

Allah sent Quran (in Arabic) as a living miracle for us. But we also find many miracles as we study his (ﷺ) biography. These miracles are witnessed and reported by the companions and came to us as authentic or acceptable narrations via trustworthy chain of narrators. These miracles serve one purpose, that we believe in his (ﷺ) message and/or strengthen our belief.

Let us read another story from authentic hadiths:

Dates From Palm-tree Obeyed Prophet Muhammad(ﷺ)

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: "A Bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: 'How shall I know that you are a Prophet?'

He(ﷺ) said: 'If I were to call this date cluster from this palm tree, would you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?' So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) called it and they started to fall from the tree, until they fell towards the Prophet (ﷺ), then he said: 'Go back,' and it went back. So, the Bedouin accepted Islam."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ بِمَ أَعْرِفُ أَنَّكَ نَبِيٌّ قَالَ ‏"‏ إِنْ دَعَوْتُ هَذَا الْعِذْقَ مِنْ هَذِهِ النَّخْلَةِ أَتَشْهَدُ أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَدَعَاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَجَعَلَ يَنْزِلُ مِنَ النَّخْلَةِ حَتَّى سَقَطَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ثُمَّ قَالَ ‏"‏ ارْجِعْ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَعَادَ فَأَسْلَمَ الأَعْرَابِيُّ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ صَحِيحٌ ‏.

Jami at-Tirmidhi , Vol. 1, Book 46, Hadith 3628 Tirmidhi indicated that this hadith is authentic. (He classed this as Hasan Gharib Sahih)

Comments:

As mentioned in earlier, that Allah has sent 100's of signs to our Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), establishing his prophethood to all of us, so that we don't lose our way.

We will explore more of these signs later, insha'Allah.
