وَقَالَتِ
And said,
ٱلْيَهُودُ
the Jews
وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ
and the Christians
نَحْنُ
"We (are)
أَبْنَٰٓؤُا۟
(the) children
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
وَأَحِبَّٰٓؤُهُۥ
and His beloved."
قُلْ
Say,
فَلِمَ "Then why يُعَذِّبُكُم (does He) punish you بِذُنُوبِكُم for your sins?" بَلْ Nay, أَنتُم you (are) بَشَرٌ human beings مِّمَّنْ from among (those) خَلَقَ He created. يَغْفِرُ He forgives لِمَن [for] whom
يَشَآءُ He wills وَيُعَذِّبُ and punishes مَن whom يَشَآءُ He wills. وَلِلَّهِ And for Allah مُلْكُ (is the) dominion ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth
وَمَا and whatever بَيْنَهُمَا (is) between them, وَإِلَيْهِ and to Him ٱلْمَصِيرُ (is) the final return. يَٰٓأَهْلَ O People ٱلْكِتَٰبِ (of) the Book! قَدْ Surely جَآءَكُمْ has come to you
رَسُولُنَا Our Messenger, يُبَيِّنُ he makes clear لَكُمْ to you عَلَىٰ [on] فَتْرَةٍ (after) an interval (of cessation) مِّنَ of ٱلرُّسُلِ the Messengers, أَن lest تَقُولُوا۟ you say مَا "Not جَآءَنَا (has) come to us
مِنۢ any بَشِيرٍ bearer of glad tidings وَلَا and not نَذِيرٍ a warner." فَقَدْ But surely جَآءَكُم has come to you بَشِيرٌ a bearer of glad tidings وَنَذِيرٌ and a warner. وَٱللَّهُ And Allah عَلَىٰ (is) on كُلِّ every
شَىْءٍ thing قَدِيرٌ All-Powerful. وَإِذْ And when قَالَ said مُوسَىٰ Musa لِقَوْمِهِۦ to his people, يَٰقَوْمِ "O my people, ٱذْكُرُوا۟ remember
نِعْمَةَ (the) Favor ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah عَلَيْكُمْ upon you إِذْ when جَعَلَ He placed فِيكُمْ among you أَنۢبِيَآءَ Prophets وَجَعَلَكُم and made you مُّلُوكًا kings
وَءَاتَىٰكُم and He gave you مَّا what لَمْ not يُؤْتِ He (had) given أَحَدًا (to) anyone مِّنَ from ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ the worlds. يَٰقَوْمِ "O my people! ٱدْخُلُوا۟ Enter
ٱلْأَرْضَ the land, ٱلْمُقَدَّسَةَ the Holy, ٱلَّتِى which كَتَبَ (has been) ordained ٱللَّهُ (by) Allah لَكُمْ for you وَلَا and (do) not تَرْتَدُّوا۟ turn
عَلَىٰٓ on أَدْبَارِكُمْ your backs, فَتَنقَلِبُوا۟ then you will turn back خَٰسِرِينَ (as) losers." قَالُوا۟ They said, يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ "O Musa! إِنَّ Indeed,
فِيهَا in it قَوْمًا (are) people جَبَّارِينَ (of) tyrannical strength وَإِنَّا and indeed, we لَن never نَّدْخُلَهَا will enter it حَتَّىٰ until يَخْرُجُوا۟ they leave مِنْهَا from it, فَإِن and if
يَخْرُجُوا۟ they leave مِنْهَا [from] it فَإِنَّا then certainly we (will) دَٰخِلُونَ enter (it)." قَالَ Said رَجُلَانِ two men مِنَ from ٱلَّذِينَ those who يَخَافُونَ feared (Allah),
أَنْعَمَ (had) favored ٱللَّهُ Allah عَلَيْهِمَا [on] both of them, ٱدْخُلُوا۟ "Enter عَلَيْهِمُ upon them ٱلْبَابَ (through) the gate فَإِذَا then when دَخَلْتُمُوهُ you have entered it فَإِنَّكُمْ then indeed, you (will be)
غَٰلِبُونَ victorious. وَعَلَى And upon ٱللَّهِ Allah فَتَوَكَّلُوٓا۟ then put your trust إِن if كُنتُم you are مُّؤْمِنِينَ believers.
فَلِمَ "Then why يُعَذِّبُكُم (does He) punish you بِذُنُوبِكُم for your sins?" بَلْ Nay, أَنتُم you (are) بَشَرٌ human beings مِّمَّنْ from among (those) خَلَقَ He created. يَغْفِرُ He forgives لِمَن [for] whom

يَخْرُجُوا۟ they leave مِنْهَا [from] it فَإِنَّا then certainly we (will) دَٰخِلُونَ enter (it)." قَالَ Said رَجُلَانِ two men مِنَ from ٱلَّذِينَ those who يَخَافُونَ feared (Allah),
أَنْعَمَ (had) favored ٱللَّهُ Allah عَلَيْهِمَا [on] both of them, ٱدْخُلُوا۟ "Enter عَلَيْهِمُ upon them ٱلْبَابَ (through) the gate فَإِذَا then when دَخَلْتُمُوهُ you have entered it فَإِنَّكُمْ then indeed, you (will be)
غَٰلِبُونَ victorious. وَعَلَى And upon ٱللَّهِ Allah فَتَوَكَّلُوٓا۟ then put your trust إِن if كُنتُم you are مُّؤْمِنِينَ believers.
