وَلَوْ
And if
أَنَّ
[that]
أَهْلَ
people
ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ
(of) the cities
ءَامَنُوا۟
(had) believed
وَٱتَّقَوْا۟
and feared Allah
لَفَتَحْنَا
surely We (would have) opened
عَلَيْهِم
upon them
بَرَكَٰتٍ
blessings
مِّنَ from ٱلسَّمَآءِ the heaven وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth وَلَٰكِن but كَذَّبُوا۟ they denied. فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم So We seized them بِمَا for what كَانُوا۟ they used to
يَكْسِبُونَ earn. أَفَأَمِنَ Then did feel secure أَهْلُ (the) people ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ (of) the cities أَن that يَأْتِيَهُم comes to them بَأْسُنَا Our punishment
بَيَٰتًا (at) night وَهُمْ while they نَآئِمُونَ (were) asleep? أَوَأَمِنَ Or felt secure أَهْلُ (the) people ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ (of) the cities أَن that يَأْتِيَهُم comes to them
بَأْسُنَا Our punishment ضُحًى (in) daylight وَهُمْ while they يَلْعَبُونَ (were) playing? أَفَأَمِنُوا۟ Then did they feel secure مَكْرَ (from the) plan ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah?
فَلَا But not يَأْمَنُ feel secure مَكْرَ (from the) plan ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah إِلَّا except ٱلْقَوْمُ the people ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ (who are) the losers. أَوَلَمْ Would it not يَهْدِ guide
لِلَّذِينَ [for] those who يَرِثُونَ inherit ٱلْأَرْضَ the land مِنۢ from بَعْدِ after أَهْلِهَآ its people أَن that لَّوْ if نَشَآءُ We willed,
أَصَبْنَٰهُم We (could) afflict them بِذُنُوبِهِمْ for their sins وَنَطْبَعُ and We put a seal عَلَىٰ over قُلُوبِهِمْ their hearts فَهُمْ so they لَا (do) not يَسْمَعُونَ hear?
تِلْكَ These ٱلْقُرَىٰ (were) the cities - نَقُصُّ We relate عَلَيْكَ to you مِنْ of أَنۢبَآئِهَا their news. وَلَقَدْ And certainly جَآءَتْهُمْ came to them
رُسُلُهُم their Messengers بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ with clear proofs, فَمَا but not كَانُوا۟ they were لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟ to believe بِمَا in what كَذَّبُوا۟ they (had) denied مِن from
قَبْلُ before. كَذَٰلِكَ Thus يَطْبَعُ (has been) put a seal ٱللَّهُ (by) Allah عَلَىٰ on قُلُوبِ (the) hearts ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ (of) the disbelievers. وَمَا And not وَجَدْنَا We found
لِأَكْثَرِهِم for most of them مِّنْ any عَهْدٍ covenant. وَإِن But وَجَدْنَآ We found أَكْثَرَهُمْ most of them لَفَٰسِقِينَ certainly, defiantly disobedient.
ثُمَّ Then بَعَثْنَا We sent مِنۢ from بَعْدِهِم after them مُّوسَىٰ Musa بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ with Our Signs إِلَىٰ to فِرْعَوْنَ Firaun وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ and his chiefs,
فَظَلَمُوا۟ But they were unjust بِهَا to them. فَٱنظُرْ So see كَيْفَ how كَانَ was عَٰقِبَةُ (the) end ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ (of) the corrupters.
وَقَالَ And said مُوسَىٰ Musa, يَٰفِرْعَوْنُ "O Firaun! إِنِّى Indeed, I am رَسُولٌ a Messenger مِّن from رَّبِّ (the) Lord ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds
مِّنَ from ٱلسَّمَآءِ the heaven وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth وَلَٰكِن but كَذَّبُوا۟ they denied. فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم So We seized them بِمَا for what كَانُوا۟ they used to
يَكْسِبُونَ earn. أَفَأَمِنَ Then did feel secure أَهْلُ (the) people ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ (of) the cities أَن that يَأْتِيَهُم comes to them بَأْسُنَا Our punishment
