وَإِذَا
And when
رَءَاكَ
they see you,
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُوٓا۟
disbelieve
إِن
not
يَتَّخِذُونَكَ
they take you
إِلَّا
except
هُزُوًا
(in) ridicule,
أَهَٰذَا
"Is this
ٱلَّذِى the one who يَذْكُرُ mentions ءَالِهَتَكُمْ your gods?" وَهُم And they بِذِكْرِ at (the) mention ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ (of) the Most Gracious هُمْ [they]
كَٰفِرُونَ (are) disbelievers. خُلِقَ Is created ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ the man مِنْ of عَجَلٍ haste. سَأُو۟رِيكُمْ I will show you
ءَايَٰتِى My Signs فَلَا so (do) not تَسْتَعْجِلُونِ ask Me to hasten. وَيَقُولُونَ And they say, مَتَىٰ "When (will be fulfilled) هَٰذَا this ٱلْوَعْدُ promise,
إِن if كُنتُمْ you are صَٰدِقِينَ truthful?" لَوْ If يَعْلَمُ knew ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved حِينَ (the) time
لَا (when) not يَكُفُّونَ they will avert عَن from وُجُوهِهِمُ their faces ٱلنَّارَ the Fire وَلَا and not عَن from ظُهُورِهِمْ their backs وَلَا and not
هُمْ they يُنصَرُونَ will be helped! بَلْ Nay, تَأْتِيهِم it will come to them بَغْتَةً unexpectedly فَتَبْهَتُهُمْ and bewilder them, فَلَا then not
يَسْتَطِيعُونَ they will be able رَدَّهَا to repel it, وَلَا and not هُمْ they يُنظَرُونَ will be given respite. وَلَقَدِ And verily, ٱسْتُهْزِئَ were mocked
بِرُسُلٍ Messengers مِّن before you *[meaning includes next or prev. word] قَبْلِكَ before you *[meaning includes next or prev. word] فَحَاقَ then surrounded بِٱلَّذِينَ those who سَخِرُوا۟ mocked مِنْهُم from them مَّا what كَانُوا۟ they used
بِهِۦ at it يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ (to) mock. قُلْ Say, مَن "Who يَكْلَؤُكُم (can) protect you بِٱلَّيْلِ in the night وَٱلنَّهَارِ and the day
مِنَ from ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ the Most Gracious?" بَلْ Yet, هُمْ they عَن from ذِكْرِ (the) remembrance رَبِّهِم (of) their Lord مُّعْرِضُونَ turn away.
أَمْ Or لَهُمْ have they ءَالِهَةٌ gods تَمْنَعُهُم (to) defend them مِّن from دُونِنَا Us? لَا Not يَسْتَطِيعُونَ they are able نَصْرَ (to) help
أَنفُسِهِمْ themselves وَلَا and not هُم they مِّنَّا from Us يُصْحَبُونَ can be protected. بَلْ Nay, مَتَّعْنَا We gave provision هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ (to) these
وَءَابَآءَهُمْ and their fathers حَتَّىٰ until طَالَ grew long عَلَيْهِمُ for them, ٱلْعُمُرُ the life. أَفَلَا Then do not يَرَوْنَ they see أَنَّا that We نَأْتِى We come
ٱلْأَرْضَ (to) the land, نَنقُصُهَا We reduce it مِنْ from أَطْرَافِهَآ its borders? أَفَهُمُ So is (it) they ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ (who will be) overcoming?
ٱلَّذِى the one who يَذْكُرُ mentions ءَالِهَتَكُمْ your gods?" وَهُم And they بِذِكْرِ at (the) mention ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ (of) the Most Gracious هُمْ [they]
