وَلَوْ
And if
رَحِمْنَٰهُمْ
We had mercy on them
وَكَشَفْنَا
and We removed
مَا
what
بِهِم
(was) on them
مِّن
of
ضُرٍّ
(the) hardship,
لَّلَجُّوا۟
surely they would persist
فِى
in
طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ
their transgression
يَعْمَهُونَ wandering blindly. وَلَقَدْ And verily أَخَذْنَٰهُم We seized them بِٱلْعَذَابِ with the punishment فَمَا but not ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ they submit لِرَبِّهِمْ to their Lord
وَمَا and not يَتَضَرَّعُونَ they supplicate humbly حَتَّىٰٓ Until إِذَا when فَتَحْنَا We opened عَلَيْهِم for them بَابًا a gate ذَا of a punishment *[meaning includes next or prev. word] عَذَابٍ of a punishment *[meaning includes next or prev. word] شَدِيدٍ severe,
إِذَا behold! هُمْ They فِيهِ in it مُبْلِسُونَ (will be in) despair. وَهُوَ And He ٱلَّذِىٓ (is) the One Who أَنشَأَ produced لَكُمُ for you ٱلسَّمْعَ the hearing وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ and the sight
وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ and the feeling; قَلِيلًا little مَّا (is) what تَشْكُرُونَ you give thanks. وَهُوَ And He ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who ذَرَأَكُمْ multiplied you فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth
وَإِلَيْهِ and to Him تُحْشَرُونَ you will be gathered. وَهُوَ And He ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who يُحْىِۦ gives life وَيُمِيتُ and causes death وَلَهُ and for Him ٱخْتِلَٰفُ (is the) alternation
ٱلَّيْلِ (of) the night وَٱلنَّهَارِ and the day. أَفَلَا Then will not تَعْقِلُونَ you reason? بَلْ Nay, قَالُوا۟ they say مِثْلَ (the) like مَا (of) what قَالَ said
ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ the former (people). قَالُوٓا۟ They said, أَءِذَا "What! When مِتْنَا we are dead وَكُنَّا and become تُرَابًا dust وَعِظَٰمًا and bones, أَءِنَّا would we
لَمَبْعُوثُونَ surely be resurrected? لَقَدْ Verily, وُعِدْنَا we have been promised نَحْنُ [we] وَءَابَآؤُنَا and our forefathers هَٰذَا this مِن before; *[meaning includes next or prev. word] قَبْلُ before; *[meaning includes next or prev. word]
إِنْ not هَٰذَآ (is) this إِلَّآ but أَسَٰطِيرُ (the) tales ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ (of) the former (people)." قُل Say, لِّمَنِ "To whom (belongs) ٱلْأَرْضُ the earth وَمَن and whoever
فِيهَآ (is) in it, إِن if كُنتُمْ you تَعْلَمُونَ know?" سَيَقُولُونَ They will say, لِلَّهِ "To Allah." قُلْ Say, أَفَلَا "Then will not
تَذَكَّرُونَ you remember?" قُلْ Say, مَن "Who رَّبُّ (is the) Lord ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ (of) the seven heavens *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱلسَّبْعِ (of) the seven heavens *[meaning includes next or prev. word] وَرَبُّ and (the) Lord ٱلْعَرْشِ (of) the Throne
ٱلْعَظِيمِ the Great?" سَيَقُولُونَ They will say, لِلَّهِ "Allah." قُلْ Say, أَفَلَا "Then will not تَتَّقُونَ you fear (Him)?" قُلْ Say, مَنۢ Who is (it)
بِيَدِهِۦ in Whose Hand(s) مَلَكُوتُ (is the) dominion كُلِّ (of) all شَىْءٍ things, وَهُوَ and He يُجِيرُ protects وَلَا and no (one) يُجَارُ (can) be protected عَلَيْهِ against Him, إِن If
كُنتُمْ you تَعْلَمُونَ know?" سَيَقُولُونَ They will say, لِلَّهِ "Allah." قُلْ Say, فَأَنَّىٰ "Then how تُسْحَرُونَ are you deluded?"
