وَقَٰرُونَ
And Qarun,
وَفِرْعَوْنَ
and Firaun
وَهَٰمَٰنَ
and Haman.
وَلَقَدْ
And certainly
جَآءَهُم
came to them
مُّوسَىٰ
Musa
بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ
with clear evidences,
فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ but they were arrogant فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth, وَمَا and not كَانُوا۟ they could سَٰبِقِينَ outstrip Us.
فَكُلًّا So each أَخَذْنَا We seized بِذَنۢبِهِۦ for his sin. فَمِنْهُم Then of them مَّنْ (was he) who, أَرْسَلْنَا We sent عَلَيْهِ on him حَاصِبًا a violent storm,
وَمِنْهُم and of them مَّنْ (was he) who, أَخَذَتْهُ seized him ٱلصَّيْحَةُ the awful cry وَمِنْهُم and of them مَّنْ (was he) who, خَسَفْنَا We caused to swallow بِهِ him,
ٱلْأَرْضَ the earth وَمِنْهُم and of them مَّنْ (was he) who, أَغْرَقْنَا We drowned. وَمَا And not كَانَ was ٱللَّهُ Allah لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ to wrong them
وَلَٰكِن but كَانُوٓا۟ they were أَنفُسَهُمْ themselves يَظْلِمُونَ doing wrong. مَثَلُ (The) example ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who
ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ take مِن besides *[meaning includes next or prev. word] دُونِ besides *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱللَّهِ Allah أَوْلِيَآءَ protectors كَمَثَلِ (is) like ٱلْعَنكَبُوتِ the spider
ٱتَّخَذَتْ who takes بَيْتًا a house. وَإِنَّ And indeed, أَوْهَنَ the weakest ٱلْبُيُوتِ (of) houses لَبَيْتُ (is) surely (the) house ٱلْعَنكَبُوتِ (of) the spider,
لَوْ if (only) كَانُوا۟ they يَعْلَمُونَ know. إِنَّ Indeed, ٱللَّهَ Allah يَعْلَمُ knows مَا what يَدْعُونَ they invoke مِن besides Him *[meaning includes next or prev. word]
دُونِهِۦ besides Him *[meaning includes next or prev. word] مِن any شَىْءٍ thing. وَهُوَ And He ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty, ٱلْحَكِيمُ the All-Wise. وَتِلْكَ And these
ٱلْأَمْثَٰلُ examples نَضْرِبُهَا We set forth لِلنَّاسِ to mankind, وَمَا but not يَعْقِلُهَآ will understand them إِلَّا except ٱلْعَٰلِمُونَ those of knowledge.
خَلَقَ Allah created *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱللَّهُ Allah created *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضَ and the earth بِٱلْحَقِّ in truth. إِنَّ Indeed, فِى in ذَٰلِكَ that
لَءَايَةً (is) surely a Sign لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ for the believers. ٱتْلُ Recite مَآ what أُوحِىَ has been revealed إِلَيْكَ to you مِنَ of ٱلْكِتَٰبِ the Book,
وَأَقِمِ and establish ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ the prayer. إِنَّ Indeed, ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ the prayer تَنْهَىٰ prevents عَنِ from ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ the immorality
وَٱلْمُنكَرِ and evil deeds, وَلَذِكْرُ and surely (the) remembrance ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah أَكْبَرُ (is) greatest. وَٱللَّهُ And Allah يَعْلَمُ knows مَا what تَصْنَعُونَ you do.
فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ but they were arrogant فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth, وَمَا and not كَانُوا۟ they could سَٰبِقِينَ outstrip Us.
