وَإِنَّ
And indeed,
مِنْهُمْ
among them
لَفَرِيقًا
surely (is) a group -
يَلْوُۥنَ
they distort
أَلْسِنَتَهُم
their tongues
بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ
in (reciting) the Book
لِتَحْسَبُوهُ
so that you may think it
مِنَ (is) from ٱلْكِتَٰبِ the Book وَمَا and not هُوَ it مِنَ (is) from ٱلْكِتَٰبِ the Book. وَيَقُولُونَ And they say, هُوَ "It مِنْ (is)
عِندِ from ٱللَّهِ Allah." وَمَا But not هُوَ it مِنْ (is) عِندِ from ٱللَّهِ Allah. وَيَقُولُونَ And they say عَلَى about ٱللَّهِ Allah ٱلْكَذِبَ the lie
وَهُمْ while they يَعْلَمُونَ know. مَا Not كَانَ is لِبَشَرٍ for a human أَن that يُؤْتِيَهُ gives him ٱللَّهُ Allah ٱلْكِتَٰبَ the Book,
وَٱلْحُكْمَ and the wisdom, وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ and the Prophethood, ثُمَّ then يَقُولَ he says لِلنَّاسِ to the people, كُونُوا۟ "Be عِبَادًا worshippers لِّى of me مِن from
دُونِ besides ٱللَّهِ Allah, وَلَٰكِن but (would say) كُونُوا۟ "Be رَبَّٰنِيِّۦنَ worshippers of the Lord بِمَا because كُنتُمْ you have been تُعَلِّمُونَ teaching
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ the Book وَبِمَا and because كُنتُمْ you have been تَدْرُسُونَ studying (it)." وَلَا And not يَأْمُرَكُمْ he will order you أَن that
تَتَّخِذُوا۟ you take ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ the Angels, وَٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ and the Prophets أَرْبَابًا (as) lords. أَيَأْمُرُكُم Would he order you بِٱلْكُفْرِ to [the] disbelief بَعْدَ after
إِذْ [when] أَنتُم you (have become) مُّسْلِمُونَ Muslims? وَإِذْ And when أَخَذَ took ٱللَّهُ Allah مِيثَٰقَ covenant ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ (of) the Prophets, لَمَآ "Certainly, whatever ءَاتَيْتُكُم I (have) given you
مِّن of كِتَٰبٍ (the) Book وَحِكْمَةٍ and wisdom ثُمَّ then جَآءَكُمْ comes to you رَسُولٌ a Messenger مُّصَدِّقٌ confirming لِّمَا that which
مَعَكُمْ (is) with you, لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ you must believe بِهِۦ in him وَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُۥ and you must help him." قَالَ He said, ءَأَقْرَرْتُمْ "Do you affirm وَأَخَذْتُمْ and take
عَلَىٰ on ذَٰلِكُمْ that (condition) إِصْرِى My Covenant?" قَالُوٓا۟ They said, أَقْرَرْنَا "We affirm." قَالَ He said, فَٱشْهَدُوا۟ "Then bear witness, وَأَنَا۠ and I (am) مَعَكُم with you
مِّنَ among ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ the witnesses." فَمَن Then whoever تَوَلَّىٰ turns away بَعْدَ after ذَٰلِكَ that, فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ then those هُمُ they
ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ (are) the defiantly disobedient. أَفَغَيْرَ So is (it) other than دِينِ (the) religion ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah يَبْغُونَ they seek? وَلَهُۥٓ While to Him أَسْلَمَ (have) submitted مَن whatever فِى (is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth, طَوْعًا willingly وَكَرْهًا or unwillingly, وَإِلَيْهِ and towards Him يُرْجَعُونَ they will be returned.
مِنَ (is) from ٱلْكِتَٰبِ the Book وَمَا and not هُوَ it مِنَ (is) from ٱلْكِتَٰبِ the Book. وَيَقُولُونَ And they say, هُوَ "It مِنْ (is)
عِندِ from ٱللَّهِ Allah." وَمَا But not هُوَ it مِنْ (is) عِندِ from ٱللَّهِ Allah. وَيَقُولُونَ And they say عَلَى about ٱللَّهِ Allah ٱلْكَذِبَ the lie
وَهُمْ while they يَعْلَمُونَ know. مَا Not كَانَ is لِبَشَرٍ for a human أَن that يُؤْتِيَهُ gives him ٱللَّهُ Allah ٱلْكِتَٰبَ the Book,
