وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟
Yet they have taken
مِن
besides Him *[meaning includes next or prev. word]
دُونِهِۦٓ
besides Him *[meaning includes next or prev. word]
ءَالِهَةً
gods
لَّا
not
يَخْلُقُونَ
they create
شَيْـًٔا
anything,
وَهُمْ
while they
يُخْلَقُونَ
are created,
وَلَا and not يَمْلِكُونَ they possess لِأَنفُسِهِمْ for themselves ضَرًّا any harm وَلَا and not نَفْعًا any benefit, وَلَا and not يَمْلِكُونَ they control مَوْتًا death
وَلَا and not حَيَوٰةً life وَلَا and not نُشُورًا resurrection. وَقَالَ And say ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَفَرُوٓا۟ disbelieve, إِنْ "Not هَٰذَآ this إِلَّآ (is) but
إِفْكٌ a lie, ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ he invented it وَأَعَانَهُۥ and helped him عَلَيْهِ at it قَوْمٌ people ءَاخَرُونَ other." فَقَدْ But verily, جَآءُو they (have) produced ظُلْمًا an injustice
وَزُورًا and a lie. وَقَالُوٓا۟ And they say, أَسَٰطِيرُ "Tales ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ (of) the former people ٱكْتَتَبَهَا which he has had written فَهِىَ and they تُمْلَىٰ are dictated
عَلَيْهِ to him بُكْرَةً morning وَأَصِيلًا and evening." قُلْ Say, أَنزَلَهُ "Has sent it down ٱلَّذِى the One Who يَعْلَمُ knows ٱلسِّرَّ the secret
فِى in ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth. إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He كَانَ is غَفُورًا Oft-Forgiving, رَّحِيمًا Most Merciful."
وَقَالُوا۟ And they say, مَالِ "Why does هَٰذَا this ٱلرَّسُولِ Messenger يَأْكُلُ eat ٱلطَّعَامَ [the] food وَيَمْشِى and walk فِى in
ٱلْأَسْوَاقِ the markets? لَوْلَآ Why not أُنزِلَ is sent down إِلَيْهِ to him مَلَكٌ an Angel فَيَكُونَ then he be مَعَهُۥ with him نَذِيرًا a warner?
أَوْ Or يُلْقَىٰٓ is delivered إِلَيْهِ to him كَنزٌ a treasure أَوْ or تَكُونُ is لَهُۥ for him جَنَّةٌ a garden, يَأْكُلُ he may eat مِنْهَا from it? وَقَالَ And say
ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ the wrongdoers, إِن "Not تَتَّبِعُونَ you follow إِلَّا but رَجُلًا a man مَّسْحُورًا bewitched." ٱنظُرْ See
كَيْفَ how ضَرَبُوا۟ they set forth لَكَ for you ٱلْأَمْثَٰلَ the similitudes, فَضَلُّوا۟ but they have gone astray, فَلَا so not يَسْتَطِيعُونَ they are able (to find)
سَبِيلًا a way. تَبَارَكَ Blessed is He ٱلَّذِىٓ Who إِن if شَآءَ He willed جَعَلَ (could have) made لَكَ for you خَيْرًا better مِّن than ذَٰلِكَ that -
جَنَّٰتٍ gardens - تَجْرِى flow مِن from تَحْتِهَا underneath it ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ the rivers وَيَجْعَل and He (could) make لَّكَ for you قُصُورًۢا palaces. بَلْ Nay,
كَذَّبُوا۟ they deny بِٱلسَّاعَةِ the Hour وَأَعْتَدْنَا and We have prepared لِمَن for (those) who كَذَّبَ deny بِٱلسَّاعَةِ the Hour, سَعِيرًا a Blazing Fire.
