فَلَوْلَا
So why not
كَانَتْ
was
قَرْيَةٌ
any town
ءَامَنَتْ
that believed,
فَنَفَعَهَآ
and benefited it
إِيمَٰنُهَآ
its faith,
إِلَّا
except
قَوْمَ
the people
يُونُسَ
(of) Yunus?
لَمَّآ When ءَامَنُوا۟ they believed, كَشَفْنَا We removed عَنْهُمْ from them عَذَابَ (the) punishment ٱلْخِزْىِ (of) the disgrace فِى in ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ the life ٱلدُّنْيَا of the world
وَمَتَّعْنَٰهُمْ and We granted them enjoyment إِلَىٰ for حِينٍ a time. وَلَوْ And if شَآءَ (had) willed رَبُّكَ your Lord لَءَامَنَ surely, (would) have believed مَن who فِى (are) in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth
كُلُّهُمْ all of them جَمِيعًا together. أَفَأَنتَ Then, will you تُكْرِهُ compel ٱلنَّاسَ the mankind حَتَّىٰ until يَكُونُوا۟ they become مُؤْمِنِينَ believers?
وَمَا And not كَانَ is لِنَفْسٍ for a soul أَن to تُؤْمِنَ believe إِلَّا except بِإِذْنِ by (the) permission ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah. وَيَجْعَلُ And He will place ٱلرِّجْسَ the wrath
عَلَى on ٱلَّذِينَ those who لَا (do) not يَعْقِلُونَ use reason. قُلِ Say, ٱنظُرُوا۟ "See, مَاذَا what فِى (is) in ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth." وَمَا But not تُغْنِى will avail ٱلْءَايَٰتُ the Signs وَٱلنُّذُرُ and the warners عَن to قَوْمٍ a people لَّا (who do) not يُؤْمِنُونَ believe.
فَهَلْ Then do يَنتَظِرُونَ they wait إِلَّا except مِثْلَ like أَيَّامِ the days ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who خَلَوْا۟ passed away مِن before them? *[meaning includes next or prev. word] قَبْلِهِمْ before them? *[meaning includes next or prev. word]
قُلْ Say, فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ "Then wait إِنِّى indeed, I (am) مَعَكُم with you مِّنَ among ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ the ones who wait." ثُمَّ Then نُنَجِّى We will save
رُسُلَنَا Our Messengers وَٱلَّذِينَ and those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe. كَذَٰلِكَ Thus, حَقًّا (it is) an obligation عَلَيْنَا upon Us نُنجِ (that) We save ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers.
قُلْ Say, يَٰٓأَيُّهَا "O mankind! *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱلنَّاسُ "O mankind! *[meaning includes next or prev. word] إِن If كُنتُمْ you are فِى in شَكٍّ doubt مِّن of دِينِى my religion, فَلَآ then not أَعْبُدُ I worship ٱلَّذِينَ those whom
تَعْبُدُونَ you worship مِن besides Allah, *[meaning includes next or prev. word] دُونِ besides Allah, *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱللَّهِ besides Allah, *[meaning includes next or prev. word] وَلَٰكِنْ but أَعْبُدُ I worship ٱللَّهَ Allah, ٱلَّذِى the One Who يَتَوَفَّىٰكُمْ causes you to die. وَأُمِرْتُ And I am commanded
أَنْ that أَكُونَ I be مِنَ of ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers." وَأَنْ And that, أَقِمْ "Direct وَجْهَكَ your face لِلدِّينِ to the religion حَنِيفًا upright,
وَلَا and (do) not تَكُونَنَّ be مِنَ of ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ the polytheists. وَلَا And (do) not تَدْعُ invoke مِن besides Allah *[meaning includes next or prev. word] دُونِ besides Allah *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱللَّهِ besides Allah *[meaning includes next or prev. word] مَا what لَا (will) not
يَنفَعُكَ benefit you وَلَا and not يَضُرُّكَ harm you. فَإِن But if فَعَلْتَ you did so فَإِنَّكَ indeed, you إِذًا then (will be) مِّنَ of ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ the wrongdoers."
