قُل
Say,
لَّن
"Never
يَنفَعَكُمُ
will benefit you
ٱلْفِرَارُ
the fleeing,
إِن
if
فَرَرْتُم
you flee
مِّنَ
from
ٱلْمَوْتِ
death
أَوِ
or
ٱلْقَتْلِ
killing,
وَإِذًا
and then
لَّا not تُمَتَّعُونَ you will be allowed to enjoy إِلَّا except قَلِيلًا a little." قُلْ Say, مَن "Who ذَا (is) it that *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱلَّذِى (is) it that *[meaning includes next or prev. word] يَعْصِمُكُم (can) protect you مِّنَ from ٱللَّهِ Allah
إِنْ If أَرَادَ He intends بِكُمْ for you سُوٓءًا any harm أَوْ or أَرَادَ He intends بِكُمْ for you رَحْمَةً a mercy?" وَلَا And not يَجِدُونَ they will find لَهُم for them مِّن besides *[meaning includes next or prev. word] دُونِ besides *[meaning includes next or prev. word]
ٱللَّهِ Allah وَلِيًّا any protector وَلَا and not نَصِيرًا any helper. قَدْ Verily, يَعْلَمُ Allah knows *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱللَّهُ Allah knows *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱلْمُعَوِّقِينَ those who hinder مِنكُمْ among you وَٱلْقَآئِلِينَ and those who say
لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ to their brothers, هَلُمَّ "Come إِلَيْنَا to us," وَلَا and not يَأْتُونَ they come ٱلْبَأْسَ (to) the battle إِلَّا except قَلِيلًا a few, أَشِحَّةً Miserly
عَلَيْكُمْ towards you. فَإِذَا But when جَآءَ comes ٱلْخَوْفُ the fear, رَأَيْتَهُمْ you see them يَنظُرُونَ looking إِلَيْكَ at you, تَدُورُ revolving أَعْيُنُهُمْ their eyes
كَٱلَّذِى like one who يُغْشَىٰ faints *[meaning includes next or prev. word] عَلَيْهِ faints *[meaning includes next or prev. word] مِنَ from ٱلْمَوْتِ [the] death. فَإِذَا But when ذَهَبَ departs ٱلْخَوْفُ the fear, سَلَقُوكُم they smite you
بِأَلْسِنَةٍ with tongues حِدَادٍ sharp أَشِحَّةً miserly عَلَى towards ٱلْخَيْرِ the good. أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ Those - لَمْ not يُؤْمِنُوا۟ they have believed, فَأَحْبَطَ so Allah made worthless *[meaning includes next or prev. word]
ٱللَّهُ so Allah made worthless *[meaning includes next or prev. word] أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ their deeds. وَكَانَ And is ذَٰلِكَ that عَلَى for ٱللَّهِ Allah يَسِيرًا easy. يَحْسَبُونَ They think
ٱلْأَحْزَابَ the confederates لَمْ (have) not يَذْهَبُوا۟ withdrawn. وَإِن And if يَأْتِ (should) come ٱلْأَحْزَابُ the confederates يَوَدُّوا۟ they would wish لَوْ if أَنَّهُم that they (were)
بَادُونَ living in (the) desert فِى among ٱلْأَعْرَابِ the Bedouins, يَسْـَٔلُونَ asking عَنْ about أَنۢبَآئِكُمْ your news. وَلَوْ And if كَانُوا۟ they were فِيكُم among you
مَّا not قَٰتَلُوٓا۟ they would fight إِلَّا except قَلِيلًا a little. لَّقَدْ Certainly, كَانَ is لَكُمْ for you فِى in رَسُولِ (the) Messenger ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah أُسْوَةٌ an example حَسَنَةٌ excellent
لِّمَن for (one) who كَانَ has يَرْجُوا۟ hope ٱللَّهَ (in) Allah وَٱلْيَوْمَ and the Day ٱلْءَاخِرَ the Last, وَذَكَرَ and remembers ٱللَّهَ Allah كَثِيرًا much.
وَلَمَّا And when رَءَا saw ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ the believers ٱلْأَحْزَابَ the confederates, قَالُوا۟ they said, هَٰذَا "This مَا (is) what وَعَدَنَا Allah promised us *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱللَّهُ Allah promised us *[meaning includes next or prev. word] وَرَسُولُهُۥ and His Messenger,
وَصَدَقَ and Allah spoke the truth *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱللَّهُ and Allah spoke the truth *[meaning includes next or prev. word] وَرَسُولُهُۥ and His Messenger." وَمَا And not زَادَهُمْ it increased them إِلَّآ except إِيمَٰنًا (in) faith وَتَسْلِيمًا and submission.
