سورة As-Saaffaat
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
وَٱلصَّٰٓفَّٰتِ
By those lined
صَفًّا
(in) rows,
فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ
And those who drive
زَجْرًا
strongly,
فَٱلتَّٰلِيَٰتِ
And those who recite
ذِكْرًا
(the) Message,
إِنَّ
Indeed,
إِلَٰهَكُمْ your Lord لَوَٰحِدٌ (is) surely One, رَّبُّ Lord ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth, وَمَا and what بَيْنَهُمَا (is) between both of them وَرَبُّ and Lord
ٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ (of) each point of sunrise. إِنَّا Indeed, We زَيَّنَّا [We] adorned ٱلسَّمَآءَ the sky ٱلدُّنْيَا [the world] بِزِينَةٍ with an adornment ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ (of) the stars. وَحِفْظًا And (to) guard
مِّن against كُلِّ every شَيْطَٰنٍ devil مَّارِدٍ rebellious, لَّا Not يَسَّمَّعُونَ they may listen إِلَى to ٱلْمَلَإِ the assembly ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ [the] exalted, وَيُقْذَفُونَ are pelted
مِن from كُلِّ every جَانِبٍ side, دُحُورًا Repelled; وَلَهُمْ and for them عَذَابٌ (is) a punishment وَاصِبٌ perpetual, إِلَّا Except مَنْ (him) who خَطِفَ snatches
ٱلْخَطْفَةَ (by) theft فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ but follows him شِهَابٌ a burning flame, ثَاقِبٌ piercing. فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ Then ask them, أَهُمْ "Are they أَشَدُّ a stronger خَلْقًا creation أَم or
مَّنْ (those) whom خَلَقْنَآ We have created?" إِنَّا Indeed, We خَلَقْنَٰهُم created them مِّن from طِينٍ a clay لَّازِبٍۭ sticky. بَلْ Nay, عَجِبْتَ you wonder, وَيَسْخَرُونَ while they mock.
وَإِذَا And when ذُكِّرُوا۟ they are reminded, لَا not يَذْكُرُونَ they receive admonition. وَإِذَا And when رَأَوْا۟ they see ءَايَةً a Sign, يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ they mock,
وَقَالُوٓا۟ And they say, إِنْ "Not هَٰذَآ (is) this إِلَّا except سِحْرٌ a magic مُّبِينٌ clear. أَءِذَا Is it when مِتْنَا we are dead وَكُنَّا and have become تُرَابًا dust وَعِظَٰمًا and bones,
أَءِنَّا shall we then لَمَبْعُوثُونَ be certainly resurrected, أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا Or our fathers ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ former?" قُلْ Say, نَعَمْ "Yes, وَأَنتُمْ and you دَٰخِرُونَ (will be) humiliated."
فَإِنَّمَا Then only هِىَ it زَجْرَةٌ (will be) a cry وَٰحِدَةٌ single, فَإِذَا then, behold! هُمْ They يَنظُرُونَ will see. وَقَالُوا۟ And they will say, يَٰوَيْلَنَا "O woe to us!
هَٰذَا This يَوْمُ (is the) Day ٱلدِّينِ (of) the Recompense." هَٰذَا "This يَوْمُ (is the) Day ٱلْفَصْلِ (of) Judgment ٱلَّذِى which كُنتُم you used to بِهِۦ [of it] تُكَذِّبُونَ deny."
ٱحْشُرُوا۟ Gather ٱلَّذِينَ those who ظَلَمُوا۟ wronged, وَأَزْوَٰجَهُمْ and their kinds وَمَا and what كَانُوا۟ they used (to) يَعْبُدُونَ worship مِن Besides *[meaning includes next or prev. word] دُونِ Besides *[meaning includes next or prev. word]
ٱللَّهِ Allah, فَٱهْدُوهُمْ then lead them إِلَىٰ to صِرَٰطِ (the) Path ٱلْجَحِيمِ (of) the Hellfire. وَقِفُوهُمْ And stop them; إِنَّهُم indeed, they مَّسْـُٔولُونَ (are) to be questioned."
