وَجَعَلْنَا
And We made
ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ
his offspring
هُمُ
[they]
ٱلْبَاقِينَ
the survivors.
وَتَرَكْنَا
And We left
عَلَيْهِ
for him
فِى
among
ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ
the later generations.
سَلَٰمٌ
"Peace be
عَلَىٰ upon نُوحٍ Nuh فِى among ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ the worlds." إِنَّا Indeed, We كَذَٰلِكَ thus نَجْزِى [We] reward ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ the good-doers. إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, he
مِنْ (was) of عِبَادِنَا Our slaves ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ believing. ثُمَّ Then أَغْرَقْنَا We drowned ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ the others. وَإِنَّ And indeed, مِن among
شِيعَتِهِۦ his kind لَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ (was) surely Ibrahim, إِذْ When جَآءَ he came رَبَّهُۥ (to) his Lord بِقَلْبٍ with a heart سَلِيمٍ sound, إِذْ When قَالَ he said
لِأَبِيهِ to his father وَقَوْمِهِۦ and his people, مَاذَا "What is it تَعْبُدُونَ you worship? أَئِفْكًا Is it falsehood - ءَالِهَةً gods دُونَ other than ٱللَّهِ Allah - تُرِيدُونَ (that) you desire?
فَمَا Then what ظَنُّكُم (do) you think بِرَبِّ about (the) Lord ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds?" فَنَظَرَ Then he glanced نَظْرَةً a glance فِى at ٱلنُّجُومِ the stars,
فَقَالَ And he said, إِنِّى "Indeed, I am سَقِيمٌ sick." فَتَوَلَّوْا۟ So they turned away عَنْهُ from him مُدْبِرِينَ departing. فَرَاغَ Then he turned إِلَىٰٓ to ءَالِهَتِهِمْ their gods
فَقَالَ and said, أَلَا "Do not تَأْكُلُونَ you eat? مَا What (is) لَكُمْ for you لَا not تَنطِقُونَ you speak?" فَرَاغَ Then he turned عَلَيْهِمْ upon them ضَرْبًۢا striking
بِٱلْيَمِينِ with the right hand. فَأَقْبَلُوٓا۟ Then they advanced إِلَيْهِ towards him, يَزِفُّونَ hastening. قَالَ He said, أَتَعْبُدُونَ "Do you worship مَا what تَنْحِتُونَ you carve
وَٱللَّهُ While Allah خَلَقَكُمْ created you وَمَا and what تَعْمَلُونَ you make?" قَالُوا۟ They said, ٱبْنُوا۟ "Build لَهُۥ for him بُنْيَٰنًا a structure فَأَلْقُوهُ and throw him
فِى into ٱلْجَحِيمِ the blazing Fire." فَأَرَادُوا۟ And they intended بِهِۦ for him كَيْدًا a plot, فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمُ but We made them ٱلْأَسْفَلِينَ the lowest.
وَقَالَ And he said, إِنِّى "Indeed, I am ذَاهِبٌ going إِلَىٰ to رَبِّى my Lord, سَيَهْدِينِ He will guide me. رَبِّ My Lord هَبْ grant لِى me مِنَ of ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ the righteous."
فَبَشَّرْنَٰهُ So We gave him the glad tidings بِغُلَٰمٍ of a boy حَلِيمٍ forbearing. فَلَمَّا Then when بَلَغَ he reached مَعَهُ the (age of) working with him *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱلسَّعْىَ the (age of) working with him *[meaning includes next or prev. word] قَالَ he said, يَٰبُنَىَّ "O my son!
إِنِّىٓ Indeed, I أَرَىٰ have seen فِى in ٱلْمَنَامِ the dream أَنِّىٓ that I am أَذْبَحُكَ sacrificing you, فَٱنظُرْ so look مَاذَا what تَرَىٰ you see." قَالَ He said, يَٰٓأَبَتِ "O my father!
ٱفْعَلْ Do مَا what تُؤْمَرُ you are commanded. سَتَجِدُنِىٓ You will find me, إِن if شَآءَ Allah wills, *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱللَّهُ Allah wills, *[meaning includes next or prev. word] مِنَ of ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ the patient ones."
