قُل
Say
لِّلْمُخَلَّفِينَ
to those who remained behind
مِنَ
of
ٱلْأَعْرَابِ
the Bedouins,
سَتُدْعَوْنَ
"You will be called
إِلَىٰ
to
قَوْمٍ
a people,
أُو۟لِى
possessors of military might *[meaning includes next or prev. word]
بَأْسٍ
possessors of military might *[meaning includes next or prev. word]
شَدِيدٍ
great;
تُقَٰتِلُونَهُمْ you will fight them, أَوْ or يُسْلِمُونَ they will submit. فَإِن Then if تُطِيعُوا۟ you obey, يُؤْتِكُمُ Allah will give you *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱللَّهُ Allah will give you *[meaning includes next or prev. word] أَجْرًا a reward حَسَنًا good;
وَإِن but if تَتَوَلَّوْا۟ you turn away كَمَا as تَوَلَّيْتُم you turned away مِّن before, *[meaning includes next or prev. word] قَبْلُ before, *[meaning includes next or prev. word] يُعَذِّبْكُمْ He will punish you عَذَابًا (with) a punishment أَلِيمًا painful." لَّيْسَ Not is
عَلَى upon ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ the blind حَرَجٌ any blame وَلَا and not عَلَى on ٱلْأَعْرَجِ the lame حَرَجٌ any blame وَلَا and not عَلَى on ٱلْمَرِيضِ the sick حَرَجٌ any blame.
وَمَن And whoever يُطِعِ obeys ٱللَّهَ Allah وَرَسُولَهُۥ and His Messenger, يُدْخِلْهُ He will admit him جَنَّٰتٍ (to) Gardens تَجْرِى flow مِن from تَحْتِهَا underneath them
ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ the rivers, وَمَن but whoever يَتَوَلَّ turns away, يُعَذِّبْهُ He will punish him عَذَابًا (with) a punishment أَلِيمًا painful. لَّقَدْ Certainly رَضِىَ Allah was pleased *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱللَّهُ Allah was pleased *[meaning includes next or prev. word]
عَنِ with ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers إِذْ when يُبَايِعُونَكَ they pledged allegiance to you تَحْتَ under ٱلشَّجَرَةِ the tree, فَعَلِمَ and He knew مَا what فِى (was) in
قُلُوبِهِمْ their hearts, فَأَنزَلَ so He sent down ٱلسَّكِينَةَ the tranquility عَلَيْهِمْ upon them وَأَثَٰبَهُمْ and rewarded them فَتْحًا (with) a victory قَرِيبًا near, وَمَغَانِمَ And spoils of war
كَثِيرَةً much يَأْخُذُونَهَا that they will take; وَكَانَ and is ٱللَّهُ Allah عَزِيزًا All-Mighty, حَكِيمًا All-Wise. وَعَدَكُمُ Allah has promised you *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱللَّهُ Allah has promised you *[meaning includes next or prev. word]
مَغَانِمَ spoils of war كَثِيرَةً much تَأْخُذُونَهَا that you will take it, فَعَجَّلَ and He has hastened لَكُمْ for you هَٰذِهِۦ this وَكَفَّ and has withheld أَيْدِىَ (the) hands
ٱلنَّاسِ (of) the people عَنكُمْ from you - وَلِتَكُونَ that it may be ءَايَةً a sign لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ for the believers وَيَهْدِيَكُمْ and He may guide you صِرَٰطًا (to the) Path
مُّسْتَقِيمًا Straight. وَأُخْرَىٰ And others, لَمْ not تَقْدِرُوا۟ you had power عَلَيْهَا over them قَدْ surely أَحَاطَ Allah encompassed *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱللَّهُ Allah encompassed *[meaning includes next or prev. word] بِهَا them,
وَكَانَ and is ٱللَّهُ Allah عَلَىٰ over كُلِّ all شَىْءٍ things قَدِيرًا All-Powerful. وَلَوْ And if, قَٰتَلَكُمُ fight you, ٱلَّذِينَ those who
كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieve, لَوَلَّوُا۟ surely they would turn ٱلْأَدْبَٰرَ the backs. ثُمَّ Then لَا not يَجِدُونَ they would find وَلِيًّا any protector وَلَا and not نَصِيرًا any helper. سُنَّةَ (The established) way
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ٱلَّتِى which قَدْ passed away *[meaning includes next or prev. word] خَلَتْ passed away *[meaning includes next or prev. word] مِن before, *[meaning includes next or prev. word] قَبْلُ before, *[meaning includes next or prev. word] وَلَن and never تَجِدَ you will find لِسُنَّةِ in (the) way of Allah *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱللَّهِ in (the) way of Allah *[meaning includes next or prev. word] تَبْدِيلًا any change.
