وَلَا
And not
يَأْتُونَكَ
they come to you
بِمَثَلٍ
with an example
إِلَّا
but
جِئْنَٰكَ
We bring you
بِٱلْحَقِّ
the truth,
وَأَحْسَنَ
and (the) best
تَفْسِيرًا
explanation.
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who يُحْشَرُونَ will be gathered عَلَىٰ on وُجُوهِهِمْ their faces إِلَىٰ to جَهَنَّمَ Hell, أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ those
شَرٌّ (are the) worst مَّكَانًا (in) position وَأَضَلُّ and most astray سَبِيلًا (from the) way. وَلَقَدْ And verily, ءَاتَيْنَا We gave مُوسَى Musa ٱلْكِتَٰبَ the Scripture
وَجَعَلْنَا and We appointed مَعَهُۥٓ with him أَخَاهُ his brother هَٰرُونَ Harun وَزِيرًا (as) an assistant. فَقُلْنَا Then We said, ٱذْهَبَآ "Go both of you
إِلَى to ٱلْقَوْمِ the people, ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَذَّبُوا۟ have denied, بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا Our Signs." فَدَمَّرْنَٰهُمْ Then We destroyed them تَدْمِيرًا (with) destruction.
وَقَوْمَ And (the) people نُوحٍ (of) Nuh, لَّمَّا when كَذَّبُوا۟ they denied ٱلرُّسُلَ the Messengers, أَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْ We drowned them وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ and We made them لِلنَّاسِ for mankind
ءَايَةً a sign. وَأَعْتَدْنَا And We have prepared لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ for the wrongdoers. عَذَابًا a punishment أَلِيمًا painful. وَعَادًا And Ad وَثَمُودَا۟ and Thamud
وَأَصْحَٰبَ and (the) dwellers ٱلرَّسِّ (of) Ar-rass وَقُرُونًۢا and generations بَيْنَ between ذَٰلِكَ that كَثِيرًا many. وَكُلًّا And each
ضَرَبْنَا We have set forth لَهُ for him ٱلْأَمْثَٰلَ the examples, وَكُلًّا and each تَبَّرْنَا We destroyed تَتْبِيرًا (with) destruction. وَلَقَدْ And verily, أَتَوْا۟ they have come عَلَى upon
ٱلْقَرْيَةِ the town ٱلَّتِىٓ which أُمْطِرَتْ was showered مَطَرَ (with) a rain ٱلسَّوْءِ (of) evil. أَفَلَمْ Then do not يَكُونُوا۟ they [were] يَرَوْنَهَا see it?
بَلْ Nay, كَانُوا۟ they are لَا not يَرْجُونَ expecting نُشُورًا Resurrection. وَإِذَا And when رَأَوْكَ they see you, إِن not يَتَّخِذُونَكَ they take you
إِلَّا except هُزُوًا (in) mockery, أَهَٰذَا "Is this ٱلَّذِى the one whom بَعَثَ Allah has sent *[meaning includes next or prev. word] ٱللَّهُ Allah has sent *[meaning includes next or prev. word] رَسُولًا (as) a Messenger? إِن He would have almost *[meaning includes next or prev. word] كَادَ He would have almost *[meaning includes next or prev. word]
لَيُضِلُّنَا [surely] misled us عَنْ from ءَالِهَتِنَا our gods لَوْلَآ if not أَن that صَبَرْنَا we had been steadfast عَلَيْهَا to them." وَسَوْفَ And soon
يَعْلَمُونَ will know حِينَ when يَرَوْنَ they will see ٱلْعَذَابَ the punishment, مَنْ who أَضَلُّ (is) more astray سَبِيلًا (from the) way. أَرَءَيْتَ Have you seen
مَنِ (one) who ٱتَّخَذَ takes إِلَٰهَهُۥ (as) his god هَوَىٰهُ his own desire? أَفَأَنتَ Then would you تَكُونُ be عَلَيْهِ over him وَكِيلًا a guardian?
